What you buy when you buy a letter, and what you may do with it beyond reading it.

1. The standard licence is one reader. Buying a letter gives you a personal, perpetual, non-transferable licence to read it, keep the file, and use its reading key on up to three registered devices you own. There is no expiry. If you replace a device or need help with activations, contact us.

2. Quoting. Quote freely, as you would from any published book - in an essay, a review, a lecture, a thesis or a post - with the letter and Veluna Press named. No permission is needed for that. Please do not reproduce a whole letter.

3. What is not permitted. Reselling or giving away the files. Uploading them to a file-sharing site, a forum, a Telegram or Discord channel, or a course platform. Printing copies for sale or for a group. Rebranding, editing or republishing the text under another name. Using the letters as training data for machine-learning models.

4. Classrooms, groups and institutions. The standard licence covers one reader, so it does not cover a class, a book club, a congregation or a company. We would far rather license those properly than have you guess - write to us and we will arrange a group licence, usually simply and cheaply.

5. Translation, audio and adaptation. The rights to translate, record, adapt or perform the letters are held by Veluna Press and are available on request. If you want to bring a letter into your own language, we would like to hear from you.

6. Enforcement. We would rather write to you than to a lawyer. If something has been shared that should not have been, take it down and tell us - that is normally the end of it.
